Katie Koss joined Wiseman Ashworth Trauger as an Associate Attorney in March 2024 upon her graduation from Loyola University School of Law. Katie was a Health Law Fellow and supported clients in a Health Justice Clinic in Chicago, Illinois. She served as both an Associate Editor as well as a Senior Editor of the Health Law Journal at Loyola and was an active participant in multiple committees with the Illinois Association of Healthcare Attorneys. Prior to, and during her law school experience, Katie served as an expert witness, specializing in home health and pediatric care, all while working full time as a nursing leader.

Prior to her law career, Katie enjoyed a robust career as a Registered Nurse. Katie began her nursing career in 2006 and was employed by Vanderbilt University Medical Center until she joined Wiseman Ashworth Trauger. Katie’s nursing experience encompassed pediatrics, emergency medicine, home health, urgent care, and ambulatory care. Katie led multiple teams through her nursing career and is certified as an ANCC Nurse Executive Advanced. Katie has demonstrated her commitment to excellence in healthcare by working with the Emergency Nurses Association as an editor for the Certified Pediatric Emergency Nurse Review Manual, by partnering with the National Council of State Boards of Nursing to write NCLEX exam items, and by working with the American Nurses Credentialing Center in both the Pediatric Nursing Standard Setting Workgroup as well as an Item Writer for the Nurse Executive, Advanced, certification.

When not practicing law, Katie enjoys spending time with friends and family, reading voraciously, listening to live music, and trying out all the new restaurants that Nashville has to offer.
